When Someone Else's Happiness Is Your Happiness That Is Love!

Being of service to others by committing a selfless act is a very gratifying experience, and not just for yourself but especially for the person who is on the receiving end.

As I was checking out homeless shelters online in my area that I would like to volunteer for a thought crossed my mind which brought up a very interesting conversation with my significant other...we as a people complain so much about what we don't have instead of being grateful for what we currently have been blessed with in our lives. There are people in the world who are struggling to care for themselves and others but they live on because of patience and faith.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Point-in-Time Count"  the past several years (2010-2017) homelessness has decreased significantly due to increased outreach programs, state funding, housing and job opportunities to name a few. All of these programs gives hope for the families that are currently struggling.

When we give of ourselves to help the less fortunate we open up our hearts to receive so much love and blessings in return. We allow ourselves to be vulnerable to empathy because we are in a position to be able to give to others in the hopes that our selflessness would make the other person feel as if there is still hope and despite what they are going through there are still people who actually cares enough to want to help them get to a better place in life!

So instead of complaining about once you pay your rent and monthly bills you will not be able to hangout at the clubs or other popular activities because of the lack of funds think about the family whose house is in foreclosure because they are not able to pay their rent/mortgage at all...or the man/woman who sleeps on the streets because they do not have any family or friends to lean on for help or a  place to live. Last but not least think about the children/youth who has to endure all of the emotional suffering that they see and feel from their parents or their environment.

Instead of complaining about not having enough clothes in your closet or boast about getting a new summer wardrobe, think about the people who has to wear the same outfit everyday who isn't blessed enough to go shopping for outfits or shoes.

Instead of complaining about what your going to eat today because nothing in your fridge entices you enough but yet you have plenty, think about the family who has to stand in line every week at the food pantry or Public Assistance office for food stamps because they can't afford to buy a fridge full of food on their own and finally the homeless standing in line at the soup kitchen for their first meal of the day.

All I'm saying is gratitude goes a long way so give more of yourself, to your community, shelters and to the less fortunate. If you are blessed enough to have the opportunity to BUY BACK THE NEIGHBORHOOD then go for it...what would you have to lose...The universe has provided for you and now is the time to give back!

The War Within

Life is too short to spend it at war with yourself. Constantly beating yourself up over every little thing won’t magically make life better. It’s time to stop the negative self-talk. It’s holding you back. What happened, happened. You can’t change the past, and no amount of self-hatred can fix it. Today is a new beginning. Choose to move forward. You are not a bad person, not a failure, and certainly not a disappointment. You are human, and that means you are constantly learning and growing. What you can change is your future. Remember, your pain will become your strength. It won't last forever. Give yourself time to heal, and take life one day at a time. Every day you make it through is another step closer to the greatness that’s waiting for you. Be patient with yourself. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, and it comes in many forms. Be proud of how far you’ve come, and trust that you are getting closer to the person you are meant to be. Keep pushing forward, keep fighti

Exploring the Spiritual Significance of Shadow Work

In our journey toward self-discovery and spiritual elevation, shadow work stands out as a profound practice that fosters deep personal and spiritual growth.  Often misunderstood or overlooked, shadow work integrates the hidden parts of ourselves, promoting healing and transformation. But what exactly is shadow work, and why is it spiritually significant? Understanding Shadow Work... Shadow work, a concept pioneered by Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, involves the exploration of the unconscious parts of our personality that we typically repress or deny. These are aspects of ourselves that we might find uncomfortable, shameful, or unacceptable, which Jung described as the "shadow." Engaging in shadow work is about acknowledging and embracing these aspects, rather than allowing them to manifest in destructive ways. This process requires honesty, introspection, and a willingness to face parts of ourselves that we might prefer to ignore. The Spiritual Significance of Shadow Work... 1
