The Unseen Force Behind Success: How Women Inspire Men to Achieve Greatness
Have you ever wondered how some renowned men found the motivation to embark on their journeys to success, even when they lacked the confidence or qualities typically associated with entrepreneurs and leaders? Many of these men owe their achievements to the incredible women in their lives—partners who recognized their potential and believed in their capabilities, even when they themselves did not.
Unfortunately, these remarkable women often go unrecognized. Once their partners reach the pinnacle of success, some men portray their journey as a solitary conquest, neglecting to acknowledge the vital role their significant others played. In some cases, the success leads to a negative shift, with men abandoning their supportive partners for superficial relationships, ultimately risking everything they’ve built.
But there’s more to the story. According to the National Association of Women Business Owners, there were over 11.6 million women-owned businesses in the U.S. as of 2017, collectively generating $1.7 trillion in sales. My research highlights several iconic companies established by women that continue to thrive today:
1. Build-A-Bear Workshop: Founded by Maxine Clarke, inspired by a shopping trip with a friend's daughter, this company has turned stuffed toys into a beloved phenomenon.
2. BET (Black Entertainment Television): Co-founded in 1979 by Sheila Johnson, who used her music teacher salary to help launch what would become a vibrant cable network, later sold to Viacom in 2001.
3. Proactiv: A household name in skincare, this brand was started by dermatologists Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields in 1995, gaining immense popularity through celebrity endorsements.
4. Famfa Oil Company: Folorunsho Alakija built this successful business in Nigeria, once ranking as the richest woman of African descent in the world in 2014, even briefly surpassing Oprah Winfrey.
Women possess the incredible ability to transform their dreams into reality, often overcoming incredible odds. As champions, mentors, mothers, and leaders, women bring their unique strengths to every sphere of life and work.
We are women; hear us roar! We are Motivators, Mothers, Wives, Teachers, Therapists, CEOs, Owners, Founders, Vice Presidents, Presidents, Board Members, Executive Officers, Managers, Supervisors, Shift Leads—the list goes on!
Women are the true Master Builders of the world!
Live, Love, Laugh, and Let Go!
