The Problem With A Closed Door... Personally, the main problem I have with a strict closed door policy is that we (as a nation) tend to make ourselves weaker if it’s enforced. What if the five-year-old immigrant child has in his or her brain the answer to cure cancer? How many immigrants which includes minority children are our future inventors, engineers, teachers, or entrepreneurs who are here to enrich not only their lives, but also are here to enrich the lives of all Americans. We become stronger as a nation when we invite and help cultivate young, positive minds. I think that one of the problems we have stemming from our current Administration in Washington, DC is that there’s an assumption of negativity associated with immigrants amd minorities such as “they’re taking away our jobs”, "make America great again" ect. If it takes some time, then take the time. If it requires some effort, then make the effort. When you don’t know how, you can learn. When you require some assistance, ask for it. If one path is blocked, start looking for another way. When something knocks you off track, get up quickly and point yourself back in the right direction.
